We have reached a sig­nif­i­cant mile­stone in our jour­ney of sus­tain­able devel­op­ment in our indus­try, as Islet Group has suc­cess­ful­ly achieved ISO 14001 cer­ti­fi­ca­tion. The ISO 14001 stan­dard is a glob­al­ly rec­og­nized frame­work for imple­ment­ing an Envi­ron­men­tal Man­age­ment Sys­tem (EMS).

Obtain­ing ISO 14001 cer­ti­fi­ca­tion under­scores our com­mit­ment to inno­va­tion, diverse work­ing and think­ing, and sus­tain­able growth.

Our path to ISO 14001 certification

With the deci­sion to pur­sue ISO 14001 cer­ti­fi­ca­tion, our goal was not only to meet the min­i­mum require­ments of the stan­dard but also to con­duct a thor­ough assess­ment of our orga­ni­za­tion and process­es, iden­ti­fy­ing areas where we can min­i­mize our envi­ron­men­tal foot­print and inte­grate sus­tain­able prac­tices into every aspect of our oper­a­tion. Being ISO 14001 cer­ti­fied brings long-term val­ue also to our key stake­hold­ers: employ­ees, cus­tomers and partners.

What does ISO 14001 cer­ti­fi­ca­tion mean in practice?

ISO 14001 cer­ti­fi­ca­tion sym­bol­izes a company’s com­mit­ment to the envi­ron­ment.

Our proac­tive approach to envi­ron­men­tal risk and change man­age­ment allows us to antic­i­pate and man­age poten­tial envi­ron­men­tal chal­lenges effec­tive­ly. ISO cer­ti­fi­ca­tion means that we have clear and mea­sur­able envi­ron­men­tal objec­tives and have inte­grat­ed envi­ron­men­tal con­sid­er­a­tions into our process­es, such as mak­ing pro­cure­ment deci­sions or choos­ing more sus­tain­able ways of trav­el, like opt­ing for train trav­el instead of flying.

ISO 14001 cer­ti­fi­ca­tion also stands for con­tin­u­ous improve­ment. We reg­u­lar­ly mon­i­tor our envi­ron­men­tal per­for­mance to make nec­es­sary adjust­ments. In addi­tion, we reg­u­lar­ly launch cam­paigns to pro­tect the Baltic Sea and aim to reach car­bon neu­tral­i­ty. Reduc­ing the amount of waste and recy­cling care­ful­ly is self-evi­dent to us.
