Sustainability strategy

Our strategy focuses on creating long-term value for our key stakeholders – employees, customers and partners – while ensuring a vibrant planet for generations to come. Our sustainability strategy covers different areas of ESG: environment, social responsibility and good governance. At the core of our strategy is our desire to be pioneers in our industry in active work that supports our own sustainability goals as well as those of our customers and partners.

Planet (Environmental responsibility)

We are committed to achieving carbon neutrality, promoting biodiversity and zero waste in our operations. Understanding the urgency of halting climate change and the need to protect the planet’s diverse ecosystems, we will take concrete actions to achieve these goals, including long-term support for WWF’s work to protect the Baltic Sea.

People (Social responsibility)

We are committed to promoting social equity and diversity, lifelong learning, and employee satisfaction and improving health and wellbeing. Our employees, “Isletters”, are truly our company’s most important asset and we are committed to creating an inclusive, safe and supportive work environment.

Sustainable Business (Good governance)

We focus on customer satisfaction, quality and green innovation. We want to actively support our customers and other stakeholders in their sustainability goals, accelerate the green transition and actively increase positive impacts.

Sustainability report

Sustainability framework in technology projects

At Islet, we strongly believe that technology plays a key role in enabling responsible business. Based on this idea, we have developed a sustainability framework for technology projects, which aims to bring a sustainability perspective to every project we deliver. Together with our customers, the framework helps us find concrete ways to support our customers’ sustainable business development and integrate a sustainability perspective into everything we do. The framework also engages project teams in sustainability work and innovation, encouraging them to consider how sustainable development can be promoted in implementing technology projects.

The sustainability framework has been created in cooperation with Islet’s personnel, customers and our partner SAP. The goal of the framework is that every technology project not only achieves business goals, but also promotes sustainable growth and responsible operations. Read more

Islet Green Innovation Fund

To support sustainable development in our operations and customer projects, we have established a EUR 100,000 fund for 2024. The fund is used to finance projects that innovate to advance the green transition, harness new technologies to contribute to building a more sustainable future, and help our customers achieve their sustainability goals.

We encourage our customers to seize this opportunity and make a positive environmental impact together with us.

Islet Goes Itämeri campaign

Work for the Baltic Sea is close to our heart, and we organise annually an #IsletGoesItämeri campaign. Through the campaign, we raise funds for the protection of the Baltic Sea, increase awareness of climate action and the state of the Baltic Sea, and encourage sustainable mobility.

Our carbon footprint

It is important for us to minimize our carbon footprint and compensate for the emissions caused by our operations. Our goal is to be carbon neutral. Our greenhouse gas emissions are not high, but we consider it necessary to develop our operations in such a way that emissions continue to decrease. We started our journey towards carbon neutrality years ago when we integrated environmental aspects into our processes, for example when making procurement decisions. Thanks to the efforts made over the past decade, we have been able to contribute to our own activities with relatively low carbon dioxide emissions. Our biggest sources of emissions are commuting and procurement. We will focus our action plan on reducing emissions from these sources. Reducing the amount of waste and recycling carefully is self-evident to us. Read more in Islet Sustainability Report
