Islet leads the way by sign­ing Microsoft Part­ner Pledge for the future

We at Islet share Microsoft’s vision to empow­er every per­son and organ­i­sa­tion to achieve more. Islet is a Microsoft Gold Part­ner and com­mit­ted in long-term to real­ize this vision. Islet is hap­py to sign Microsoft’s Part­ner Pledge, launched ear­li­er this week, as a promise to make an impact for the future, to con­tin­ue our work in these impor­tant areas and inspire oth­er Microsoft part­ners and stake­hold­ers in the tech­nol­o­gy indus­try to join forces in con­tribut­ing to these initiatives. 

Microsoft’s new­ly launched Part­ner Pledge Pro­gramme aims to use tech­nol­o­gy as a force for good. Microsoft invites their over 70.000 part­ners in West­ern Europe to become ambas­sadors in four focus areas:

• Dig­i­tal skills
• Respon­si­ble and Eth­i­cal AI
• Diver­si­ty
• Sus­tain­abil­i­ty

Improv­ing Dig­i­tal Skills is in Islet’s DNA and Islet com­mits to be the ambas­sador of Microsoft Dig­i­tal Skills ini­tia­tive. Islet has invest­ed decades in Islet­ters’ dig­i­tal skills — as an exam­ple, this year alone over 70% of Islet­ters have com­plet­ed tech­nol­o­gy relat­ed cer­tifi­cates. More­over, the lead­ing prin­ci­ple behind Islet project deliv­ery method­ol­o­gy is to train cus­tomers to use the imple­ment­ed solu­tions so that they can ben­e­fit from the full poten­tial. It is also our mis­sion to teach how to use tech­nol­o­gy well and sus­tain­ably, and to raise aware­ness and increase the dig­i­tal skills in our sur­round­ing communities.

Islet has always been a pio­neer for diverse and ver­sa­tile work­ing and think­ing in the tech world. We have been sup­port­ing gen­der equal­i­ty and diver­si­ty through­out Islet’s his­to­ry, with our female founder and CEOs, diverse work­force, and inclu­sive com­pa­ny cul­ture. Ear­li­er this year, Islet and SAP joined forces to increase diver­si­ty and gen­der equal­i­ty in tech­nol­o­gy indus­try through sup­port­ing and par­tic­i­pat­ing to the #mim­mitkoodaa move­ment and orga­niz­ing a free-of-charge chal­lenge relat­ed to user inter­face design and appli­ca­tion devel­op­ment. Next to equal oppor­tu­ni­ties, we sup­port and pro­mote unbi­ased, eth­i­cal tech­nol­o­gy and AI for Good, as well as com­mit to pro­vid­ing tech­nol­o­gy and resources to empow­er orga­ni­za­tions work­ing to solve glob­al challenges.

Islet has a sharp focus on sus­tain­abil­i­ty and reduc­ing own car­bon foot­print, by set­ting ambi­tious tar­gets based on sci­ence, lead­ing with exam­ple and rais­ing aware­ness. Islet also sup­ports cus­tomers and oth­er stake­hold­ers in run­ning their busi­ness more sus­tain­ably — read Trans­meri case study. Microsoft cer­ti­fied and pub­lished recent­ly Islet’s Emis­sion cal­cu­la­tion & report­ing appli­ca­tion made for any orga­ni­za­tion to col­lect and visu­al­ize emis­sion data, mea­sure their envi­ron­men­tal impact and make informed deci­sions and actions to reach their sus­tain­abil­i­ty goals. As a mem­ber of the UN Glob­al Com­pact Net­work Fin­land, Islet also com­mits to report on the progress and con­tin­u­ous­ly edu­cate our­selves and look for new ways to meet the UN Sus­tain­able Devel­op­ment Goals. The UN Glob­al Com­pact pro­motes and devel­ops the eco­log­i­cal, social and eco­nom­ic respon­si­bil­i­ty of com­pa­nies and communities.

Islet is also a part of Inter­na­tion­al Asso­ci­a­tion of Microsoft Chan­nel Part­ners (IAM­CP), that has a mis­sion to act as a com­mu­ni­ty that helps Microsoft ecosys­tem orga­ni­za­tions and Microsoft part­ners to net­work for joint suc­cess. As a part of this impact­ful net­work, we believe that great leaps can be made togeth­er in Cor­po­rate Social Respon­si­bil­i­ty to change the world for the better.
