Wihuri trans­forms data man­age­ment and ana­lyt­ics with Islet

Wihuri, a Finnish con­glom­er­ate, has embarked on a sig­nif­i­cant dig­i­tal trans­for­ma­tion project with its Tech­ni­cal Trade busi­ness, with the help of lead­ing data and ana­lyt­ics solu­tions ven­dor Islet Group. The project, which uti­lizes Microsoft Azure data plat­form, has rev­o­lu­tion­ized Wihuri’s approach to data man­age­ment and analy­sis, lead­ing to sub­stan­tial improve­ments in busi­ness oper­a­tions and decision-making.

Data Lake­house Architecture

The inno­v­a­tive solu­tion is based on the imple­men­ta­tion of Azure Synapse Ana­lyt­ics, Azure Data Lake, Synapse Pipelines, Delta Lake, and Azure SQL Server­less pool — an approach com­mon­ly referred to as “Data Lake­house” archi­tec­ture. This approach enables high flex­i­bil­i­ty, scal­a­bil­i­ty, and advanced ana­lyt­ics capa­bil­i­ties, cru­cial for an enter­prise of Wihuri’s scale.

Addi­tion­al­ly, Aecor­soft Data Inte­gra­tor was employed to ingest SAP data into the Azure Data Lake, ensur­ing seam­less data flow from SAP sys­tems to Azure’s cloud plat­form. With inno­v­a­tive fea­tures, like Super Delta, it enables fast go-to-mar­ket and easy data ingestion.

Game-Chang­ing Busi­ness Impact — Pow­er BI

On top of the data plat­form, Pow­er BI is used for pro­vid­ing insight­ful analy­sis for busi­ness users. The plat­form has stream­lined the deci­sion-mak­ing process, empow­er­ing users to under­stand their data more intu­itive­ly and to make data-dri­ven deci­sions more efficiently.

Open, Com­mit­ted, and Inno­v­a­tive Cooperation

From the Islet’s per­spec­tive, the project was an excit­ing oppor­tu­ni­ty to deliv­er a state-of-the-art Azure-based solu­tion to a large corporation.

The suc­cess of this project serves as a tes­ta­ment to the capa­bil­i­ties of the Azure plat­form and the Data Lake­house approach, paving the way for sim­i­lar trans­for­ma­tions with­in oth­er organizations.
