ABB Dri­ves counts on Islet in their SAP sys­tem development

ABB runs SAP enter­prise resource plan­ning sys­tems broad­ly in their oper­a­tions. ABB and Islet have joint­ly devel­oped the sys­tem in dif­fer­ent fields since the year 2013. In addi­tion to projects, ABB and Islet are con­tin­u­ous­ly doing small scale devel­op­ment on ABB’s SAP sys­tems and in this way expand­ing its func­tion­al­i­ties and build­ing new inter­faces to exter­nal systems. 

In 2014, ABB Dri­ves exe­cut­ed a com­pre­hen­sive inte­gra­tion project in coop­er­a­tion with Islet. In the project, a new data han­dling process that linked ABB’s SAP sys­tem and an exter­nal cloud based sys­tem, was imple­ment­ed. The process was devel­oped to meet ABB’s dis­tinc­tive busi­ness needs. Inte­grat­ed and autom­a­tized infor­ma­tion flow improved data reli­a­bil­i­ty and enhanced the entire process. The advan­tages of the inte­gra­tion project have been remark­able, and the solu­tion is being imple­ment­ed glob­al­ly by ABB. 

Islet’s nearshore Hun­gary team and its pro­fes­sion­als with exten­sive SAP pro­gram­ming and appli­ca­tion con­sult­ing exper­tise, have had an active role in ABB Dri­ves’ SAP sys­tem devel­op­ment projects. The devel­op­ment tasks have been coor­di­nat­ed by a Finnish coor­di­na­tor and exe­cut­ed by our team in Hun­gary. Com­mu­ni­ca­tion with experts in the same time zone has been easy and smooth. The devel­op­ment tasks have been exe­cut­ed on a time­ly and flex­i­ble man­ner, based on the needs of ABB. Islet’s Hun­gary team has pro­vid­ed large-scale projects and small-scale devel­op­ment for over 15 years for Finnish and glob­al SAP customers.
