Sikla surfs the digital wave with SAP Business ByDesign

Sikla, “builder of the future”, selected cloud-based SAP Business ByDesign technology as its new ERP solution and ISLET Group as partner for implementation. The project was launched in January and was carried out entirely remotely due to the Covid situation. The cooperation between Sikla and Islet went smoothly and the solution went live on 1 June 2020.

The construction company Sikla Group designs and builds corporate homes, nursing homes, kindergartens, schools and business premises. The mission of the Group is to produce better user experiences, and the users of the facilities are at the core of the company’s operations. The Group had grown so rapidly in recent years that its systems no longer supported operations and couldn’t keep pace with growth. To support future growth, Sikla launched a Sustainable Growth project in 2019 with the goal of a large digital leap to streamline business operations.

Out of the several options compared, Sikla selected cloud-based SAP Business ByDesign technology because they wanted a comprehensive, modern, user-friendly and well-integrated ERP solution. The breadth of SAP Business ByDesign as an ERP solution was important. Sikla and Islet brought together the processes of HR, finance, procurement, sales, production and project business in SAP Business ByDesign. The goal was to keep as much information as possible in one place so that the information is visible and accessible so that it truly serves the business.

Our intention is to continue our strong growth. We chose SAP’s Business ByDesign solution and set out to take a digital leap with Islet. We have developed knowledge management and fact-based decision-making at all levels of the organization, with which we want to enable future growth. SAP Business ByDesign solution has brought new energy to e.g. sales management and the execution of important projects. Islet has been a partner of the right size for us – communication is direct, honest and open, and the work is done in genuine collaboration.

Sikla’s own IT department is very small, consisting only of two people, so an experienced and competent partner was important to succeed in the project. In addition, both Sikla and Islet teams built around the business areas took the project forward with determination and efficiency, despite working remotely.
