Jan­i­na Luo­to “Nordic Women in Tech” Finalist

We are proud to announce that Islet Group CEO Jan­i­na Luo­to has been nom­i­nat­ed as one of the final­ists for “Dig­i­tal Leader of the Year” in the Nordic Women in Tech Awards (NWi­TA). Cel­e­brat­ing the achieve­ments of women in the tech indus­try and inspir­ing diver­si­ty in IT, NWi­TA annu­al­ly select female role mod­els in ten cat­e­gories. Their mis­sion is to inspire, edu­cate, and sup­port women pur­su­ing careers in IT and cre­ate a safe envi­ron­ment where every­one feels they fit in.

We are very hon­oured for the nom­i­na­tion by the Nordic Women in Tech Awards that is rep­re­sent­ing an impor­tant and mean­ing­ful cause. Diver­si­ty is the bedrock of our island. Islet Group is an inter­na­tion­al Finnish fam­i­ly busi­ness striv­ing to make the world a bet­ter place with the lat­est tech­nolo­gies. Since the begin­ning, we have been a pio­neer in diverse think­ing and work­ing in the world of tech­nol­o­gy. The com­pa­ny was found­ed over 20 years ago by a woman, which was unusu­al in the IT field at the time, and since then we have active­ly pro­mot­ed equal oppor­tu­ni­ties in our indus­try. Rough­ly 50% of the work­force and man­age­ment team of Islet are female. We val­ue coop­er­a­tion with enti­ties like the #mim­mitkoodaa (women code) move­ment, that aims to inspire women inter­est­ed in soft­ware devel­op­ment to start learn­ing to code and to steer their career paths towards the industry.

In addi­tion to lead­ing Islet Group, Jan­i­na Luo­to is also a Sus­tain­able Devel­op­ment Steer­ing Com­mit­tee Mem­ber at the Finnish Fam­i­ly Busi­ness Asso­ci­a­tion. The com­mit­tee aims to engage and empow­er Finnish fam­i­ly busi­ness­es in their jour­ney towards a more sus­tain­able future. She is also a Steer­ing Com­mit­tee Mem­ber of the High-Growth Entre­pre­neurs’ Net­work, and a board mem­ber of The Finnish Soft­ware and E‑business Asso­ci­a­tion rep­re­sent­ing over 700 soft­ware-dri­ven com­pa­nies in Finland.

The Awards received over 200 nom­i­na­tions this year and selected 5 final­ists for each cat­e­go­ry from all the tal­ent­ed nom­i­nees. Jan­i­na Luo­to was short­list­ed thanks to her demon­strat­ed suc­cess­ful results in the area of dig­i­tal inno­va­tion in the last 24 months. Islet Group has quadru­pled in size in the last four years and trans­formed its busi­ness into a cloud first world. We have deliv­ered sev­er­al inno­v­a­tive solu­tions to our cus­tomers and are com­mit­ted to con­tin­ue on this jour­ney. SAP award­ed Islet as “Part­ner of the Year” in Finland.
