The Finnish Medicines Agency Fimea introduced a working time application implemented by Islet, which brings efficiency and ease to the working day. The new time-logging application has been built on the Microsoft Power Apps platform, and its deployment was smooth thanks to the excellent cooperation between Fimea, KEHA and Islet.

The original version of the working time application was developed for the KEHA Centre by Islet in cooperation with Microsoft and as part of the renewal of the digital work environment, as described in the KEHA Centre article. The application was adapted to Fimea’s needs in cooperation with Islet’s experts, and the deployment was exceptionally fast.

Fimea became interested in the working time logging application after hearing about the positive experiences of the KEHA Centre, and quickly noticed that there was a need for a similar solution in its own organisation. In good cooperation with the KEHA Centre, it was agreed to share the application with Fimea, and the deployment could be started flexibly. The app was first deployed to a limited group of users in December 2024, and the entire organization deployed it from the beginning of May 2025.

Thanks to the excellent Power Apps skills of Islet’s experts, we were able to get the app up and running in record time. With the help of Islet’s experts, we were also able to significantly improve Fimea’s Power Platform management model. Our employees have received the application enthusiastically and the feedback has been extremely positive – logging in working hours is now much faster and easier.

With the application, Fimea’s employees can easily and quickly log in their working hours on different devices – such as mobile devices or computers – which has improved both the smoothness of work and the quality of information. The benefits of the application are also significant financially: Fimea estimates the value of the annual savings in working hours to be more than 300,000€ when there are about 350 users. The source code of the application was handed over to Fimea, and the cost-effective solution enabled significant savings and quick deployment.

Fimea’s project is a great example of how modern, agile tools, such as Power Apps, can genuinely improve the everyday life of an organisation. We are happy to be involved in bringing concrete added value to Fimea – this is exactly what we want to do at Islet: help our customers succeed in their digital transformation journey.

The cooperation between Fimea and the KEHA Centre and the introduction of the application also raised wider interest: the application was presented in the Government Modern Work User Group (VMUG) in autumn 2024, and also raised interest in other government organisations.
