Transmeri and Islet have completed together a successful transformation project to SAP S/4HANA on Azure. The project was delivered in time and on budget, and Transmeri gained several business benefits from the transformation.
Transmeri’s vision was to create one digital platform for a group-wide ERP system which would support the company in their long-term business objectives. The company wanted to digitally transform using an intelligent infrastructure for ERP hosted in the cloud. Transformation project goals were achieved thanks to the seamless cooperation between the Transmeri and Islet teams.
SAP S/4HANA provides a modern digital platform which helps us to innovate and flexibly support the changing needs of our different businesses. It is also perfectly aligned with our strategy and sustainability goals, as well as it enables us to increase digitalization, expand geographically, and create synergies.
Transmeri Group converted to SAP S/4HANA on Microsoft Azure with brownfield approach in a smooth 9-month project. Transmeri and Islet started the preparations for Transmeri Group’s transformation project in 2019. Main parts of the S/4HANA transformation were S/4HANA Assessment, S/4HANA proof-of-concept project, Unicode conversion, SAP ERP on Azure migration, and S/4HANA conversion. Islet moved Transmeri’s existing SAP ERP to Microsoft Azure platform and subsequently converted it to SAP S/4HANA. Transmeri has been driving their operations successfully in SAP S/4HANA on Azure since the beginning of year 2021.

Increased Efficiency and New Services for Customers and Employees
Transmeri’s goal is to unify company’s existing ERP landscape, which has been fragmented by mergers and acquisitions. The new system enabled Transmeri for example to automate intercompany billing and sales order processes, speed up the financial reporting, and improve the accuracy of sales planning. Operational reporting is improved now that Transmeri no longer needs to combine multiple reports in a spreadsheet to make calculations.
As a part of the transformation, a secure, time and place independent, access to business-critical solutions were offered for the employees to enhance productivity and employee satisfaction. Single sign-on with Microsoft Office 365 Multi-Factor Authentication was implemented to both Fiori and SAP GUI user interfaces. Additionally, the employee experience and overall productivity was further increased by building eight custom Fiori applications and activating 18 standard Fiori applications for example in the logistics area.
Focus on Excellent Customer Service with Harmonized IT Systems in the Cloud
Streamlined processes and simplified IT landscape help already alone to improve the customer experience. Additionally, Transmeri has launched a new Web shop integrated with SAP S/4HANA, allowing customers to place orders directly to the warehouse with no input from customer service which in turn speeds up the deliveries.
Transmeri has also moved its logistics processes to intuitive SAP Fiori applications. Previously, warehouse staff had to create deliveries and warehouse transfer orders and post goods issue manually. They now perform these tasks automatically using the new user interface, which reduces picking times and improves employee experience.
With SAP S/4HANA, we can optimize and automate our end-to-end processes, make better decisions based on real-time data and provide an intuitive user interface – ultimately to serve customers, employees, and suppliers better in long-term.

We are very proud to have completed this successful S/4HANA on Azure project together with Transmeri as one of the early adopters globally.
