We are proud to announce that Islet Group CEO Janina Luoto has been nominated as one of the finalists for “Digital Leader of the Year” in the Nordic Women in Tech Awards (NWiTA). Celebrating the achievements of women in the tech industry and inspiring diversity in IT, NWiTA annually select female role models in ten categories. Their mission is to inspire, educate, and support women pursuing careers in IT and create a safe environment where everyone feels they fit in.
We are very honoured for the nomination by the Nordic Women in Tech Awards that is representing an important and meaningful cause. Diversity is the bedrock of our island. Islet Group is an international Finnish family business striving to make the world a better place with the latest technologies. Since the beginning, we have been a pioneer in diverse thinking and working in the world of technology. The company was founded over 20 years ago by a woman, which was unusual in the IT field at the time, and since then we have actively promoted equal opportunities in our industry. Roughly 50% of the workforce and management team of Islet are female. We value cooperation with entities like the #mimmitkoodaa (women code) movement, that aims to inspire women interested in software development to start learning to code and to steer their career paths towards the industry.
In addition to leading Islet Group, Janina Luoto is also a Sustainable Development Steering Committee Member at the Finnish Family Business Association. The committee aims to engage and empower Finnish family businesses in their journey towards a more sustainable future. She is also a Steering Committee Member of the High-Growth Entrepreneurs’ Network, and a board member of The Finnish Software and E-business Association representing over 700 software-driven companies in Finland.
The Awards received over 200 nominations this year and selected 5 finalists for each category from all the talented nominees. Janina Luoto was shortlisted thanks to her demonstrated successful results in the area of digital innovation in the last 24 months. Islet Group has quadrupled in size in the last four years and transformed its business into a cloud first world. We have delivered several innovative solutions to our customers and are committed to continue on this journey. SAP awarded Islet as “Partner of the Year” in Finland.
