Lumene transitioned to SAP S/4HANA successfully with Islet

Lumene Group has a rich history and strong know-how in using SAP ERP and the company has been Islet’s continuous services customer for over 13 years. Lumene’s journey towards SAP S/4HANA was a significant milestone, demonstrating a continued commitment to technological advancement and operational efficiency.

Lumene’s transition journey began in 2020 when they moved their SAP server environment into Microsoft Azure. By migrating the SAP platform to cloud, Lumene achieved cost savings and brought two important technological ecosystems closer together, aiming for synergy benefits in the long term. After carefully completing S/4HANA pre-assessment in 2022 and diligent preparations in 2023 with Islet, Lumene was ready for the SAP S/4HANA project in 2024. The project closed with a successful go-live in October 2024.

Moreover, Islet and Lumene Group piloted Islet’s newly created Sustainability Framework for Technology Projects in the project, which integrates sustainability aspects to project and challenges the project team to think how the project could contribute to overall company’s sustainability targets.

The transition allows Lumene to future-proof their operations. The latest innovations are now enabled, and running SAP S/4HANA on Azure allows for scalability and operational efficiency.

The project was executed smoothly and on schedule. Any challenges were tackled in close collaboration between Lumene and Islet with shared appreciation for a fast, result-oriented and flexible approach. In addition to being on schedule, the goal of zero business day interruptions was also achieved. That required comprehensive testing as well as meticulous planning and scheduling by Islet for the conversion weekend.

Now, with the transition successfully completed, system developments at Lumene are in full swing. They have already seen benefits from the system transition, and the current architecture sets a secure foundation for new developments and innovations. Lumene continues to enjoy uninterrupted and timely support from Islet, ensuring a smooth journey ahead with SAP S/4HANA.
