Since 1640, it has been involved in cre\u00adat\u00ading a&nbsp;fair and equi\u00adtable soci\u00adety, which is con\u00adsid\u00adered by many as the best in the world. Today, the mul\u00adti\u00addis\u00adci\u00adpli\u00adnary sci\u00aden\u00adtif\u00adic com\u00admu\u00adni\u00adty is solv\u00ading prob\u00adlems that affect us all, also inter\u00adna\u00adtion\u00adal\u00adly. The sci\u00aden\u00adtif\u00adic com\u00admu\u00adni\u00adty of 40,000 stu\u00addents and work\u00aders is cre\u00adat\u00ading solu\u00adtions that shape the future of our plan\u00adet and Humankind.<\/p>\n<p>The uni\u00adver\u00adsi\u00adty oper\u00adates on four cam\u00adpus\u00ades, but there are offices from Kenya to Lake Kilpisj\u00e4rvi. Inter\u00adna\u00adtion\u00adal\u00adi\u00adty plays a&nbsp;major role in all uni\u00adver\u00adsi\u00adty activ\u00adi\u00adties. My role is with\u00adin the finance and HR indus\u00adtry and in both finan\u00adcial and HR sys\u00adtems and report\u00ading. My team cur\u00adrent\u00adly includes 10 full-time peo\u00adple and in addi\u00adtion we use a&nbsp;lot of partners.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><strong>To which direc\u00adtion is your field developing?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The uni\u00adver\u00adsi\u00adty world is under\u00adgo\u00ading a&nbsp;major trans\u00adfor\u00adma\u00adtion both in Fin\u00adland and abroad. The val\u00adue of research and edu\u00adca\u00adtion is per\u00adma\u00adnent, although changes in trends can occur from time to time. In Fin\u00adland, some kind of clos\u00ader coop\u00ader\u00ada\u00adtion and con\u00adcen\u00adtra\u00adtion between uni\u00adver\u00adsi\u00adties will prob\u00ada\u00adbly take place in the future. There are more than 17,000 uni\u00adver\u00adsi\u00adties world\u00adwide and more will come. The Uni\u00adver\u00adsi\u00adty of Helsin\u00adki is ranked glob\u00adal\u00adly in a&nbsp;range of 50\u2009\u2013\u2009100 between all uni\u00adver\u00adsi\u00adties. The dif\u00adfer\u00adent rank\u00adings are a&nbsp;bit like the stock mar\u00adket price of the uni\u00adver\u00adsi\u00adty world, mean\u00ading they show the com\u00adpar\u00adi\u00adson and devel\u00adop\u00adment between universities<\/p>\n<p>It is inter\u00adest\u00ading to see how uni\u00adver\u00adsi\u00adties will retain their aca\u00add\u00ade\u00adm\u00adic free\u00addom in the future that eco\u00adnom\u00adic fac\u00adtors do not begin to con\u00adtrol what is being stud\u00adied. Big play\u00aders like Google have set up their own train\u00ading pro\u00adgrams to train and hire top pro\u00adfes\u00adsion\u00adals. With dig\u00adi\u00adtal\u00adiza\u00adtion, knowl\u00adedge and cours\u00ades become more acces\u00adsi\u00adble. The con\u00adcern is that mon\u00adey gets too much con\u00adtrol over what is being stud\u00adied. The uni\u00adver\u00adsi\u00adty has a&nbsp;sol\u00adid his\u00adto\u00adry of research\u00ading where the econ\u00ado\u00admy is not even the top factor.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><strong>What is your organization\u2019s key mes\u00adsage to its stake\u00adhold\u00aders and customers?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Uni\u00adver\u00adsi\u00adty of Helsin\u00adki is a&nbsp;top mul\u00adti\u00addis\u00adci\u00adpli\u00adnary and inter\u00adna\u00adtion\u00adal uni\u00adver\u00adsi\u00adty. Open\u00adness and glob\u00adal\u00adiza\u00adtion are at the heart. The goal is to change atti\u00adtudes and soci\u00adety for the bet\u00adter in the world. The best solu\u00adtions to glob\u00adal chal\u00adlenges come from coop\u00ader\u00ada\u00adtion. We invite alum\u00adni, foun\u00adda\u00adtions, com\u00admu\u00adni\u00adties and com\u00adpa\u00adnies to join us in build\u00ading a&nbsp;bet\u00adter future through edu\u00adca\u00adtion and research.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><strong>How does your orga\u00adni\u00adza\u00adtion retain top tal\u00adents and what makes your orga\u00adni\u00adza\u00adtion a&nbsp;great place to&nbsp;work?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We have been able to cre\u00adate a&nbsp;good, pos\u00adi\u00adtive atmos\u00adphere. The Uni\u00adver\u00adsi\u00adty of Helsin\u00adki has a&nbsp;lot of long careers and a&nbsp;lot of inter\u00adest\u00ading things that the staff can get involved with. The Uni\u00adver\u00adsi\u00adty is a&nbsp;very ver\u00adsa\u00adtile player.<br> We do not com\u00adpete with salaries, but Fin\u00adland and Helsin\u00adki are the strengths of the fierce com\u00adpe\u00adti\u00adtion in the world of acad\u00ade\u00admia, espe\u00adcial\u00adly the oppor\u00adtu\u00adni\u00adties for qual\u00adi\u00adty of life and the orga\u00adniz\u00ading con\u00addi\u00adtions out\u00adside&nbsp;work.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><strong>What is the best part of your&nbsp;work?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We are work\u00ading hard on sys\u00adtems and report\u00ading at the moment. We are not jerky but con\u00adstant\u00adly doing a&nbsp;lot of new things and devel\u00adop\u00ading the old. My role is quite inde\u00adpen\u00addent and there is strong sup\u00adport from my employ\u00ader for doing things. Although you work hard and do a&nbsp;lot, it is impor\u00adtant to keep your well-being in bal\u00adance. We strive to be pio\u00adneers in the devel\u00adop\u00adment and use of digitalization.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><strong>How would you describe the part\u00adner\u00adship with&nbsp;ISLET?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We have a&nbsp;desire to uti\u00adlize sup\u00adpli\u00aders \/ part\u00adners exten\u00adsive\u00adly, both in imple\u00admen\u00adta\u00adtion, spar\u00adring, and review. The part\u00adner\u00adship with ISLET is straight\u00adfor\u00adward, open, and devel\u00adop\u00admen\u00adtal and imag\u00adi\u00adna\u00adtive. This is a&nbsp;great way to work togeth\u00ader and you can learn a&nbsp;lot both ways. It is gen\u00aduine part\u00adner\u00adship and open to work\u00ading togeth\u00ader. Islet\u00adter is a&nbsp;flam\u00adboy\u00adant and knowl\u00adedge\u00adable per\u00adson who tru\u00adly wants to devel\u00adop solu\u00adtions. It\u2019s been a&nbsp;plea\u00adsure work\u00ading pro\u00adfes\u00adsion\u00adal\u00adly with the Islet\u00adter. Every time you bring a&nbsp;new idea to the table, you get the feel\u00ading that you know what you\u2019re talk\u00ading&nbsp;about.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><strong>Own mot\u00adto<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I was involved in the EK cam\u00adpaign where I&nbsp;came up with the mot\u00adto on the fly \u201cFam\u00adi\u00adly is always fam\u00adi\u00adly\u201d. This comes from the fact that I&nbsp;feel our way of work\u00ading is one where com\u00admu\u00adni\u00adty and the role of our team are some\u00adhow behind this mot\u00adto.
