I want\u00aded to write this blog as many clients are now con\u00adsid\u00ader\u00ading the move from SAP ERP sys\u00adtem to SAP S\/4HANA<\/a>. At ISLET our clients and employ\u00adees have always been at the core. We want to offer our clients the best busi\u00adness tech\u00adnol\u00ado\u00adgy solu\u00adtions con\u00adsid\u00ader\u00ading their needs and wish\u00ades. I have worked with SAP sys\u00adtems for over 10 years and at ISLET I am respon\u00adsi\u00adble for our tech\u00adnol\u00ado\u00adgy vision and strate\u00adgi\u00adcal part\u00adner\u00adships. I have always been inter\u00adest\u00aded in tech\u00adnolo\u00adgies and my pas\u00adsion is to help our clients. Hence, I still con\u00adstant\u00adly do con\u00adsult\u00ading as well.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Cur\u00adrent\u00adly, SAP<\/a><\/strong> tech\u00adnolo\u00adgies are fac\u00ading major rev\u00ado\u00adlu\u00adtion as some years ago SAP launched their next gen\u00ader\u00ada\u00adtion ERP solu\u00adtion, SAP S\/4HANA. When con\u00adsid\u00ader\u00ading the move, every com\u00adpa\u00adny that cur\u00adrent\u00adly uses SAP tech\u00adnolo\u00adgies, should also look at the plat\u00adform solu\u00adtions \u2013 where they want to run their SAP envi\u00adron\u00adment in the future. When I searched for the best and most cost-effi\u00adcient solu\u00adtions for our clients, I noticed cloud solu\u00adtions, like Microsoft Azure<\/a><\/strong>, have matured as great plat\u00adform options for SAP S\/4HANA sys\u00adtems. Below I tell you why.<\/p>\n Typ\u00adi\u00adcal\u00adly in the past, SAP ERP has not required sig\u00adnif\u00adi\u00adcant capac\u00adi\u00adty from its plat\u00adform. With SAP S\/4HANA comes the SAP HANA<\/a><\/strong> data\u00adbase in ques\u00adtion, where\u00adupon sys\u00adtem runs pri\u00admar\u00adi\u00adly depen\u00addent on RAM. Along with the new data\u00adbase tech\u00adnol\u00ado\u00adgy, require\u00adments for plat\u00adform ser\u00advices have ten fold\u00aded and plat\u00adform plays a sig\u00adnif\u00adi\u00adcant role from the cost point of view. Scal\u00ada\u00adbil\u00adi\u00adty, avail\u00adabil\u00adi\u00adty, cost-effi\u00adcien\u00adcy, the flex\u00adi\u00adbil\u00adi\u00adty of imple\u00admen\u00adta\u00adtion and usabil\u00adi\u00adty as well as uti\u00adliz\u00ading dif\u00adfer\u00adent type of cloud ser\u00advice mod\u00adels, such as Pay-As-You-Go, are at the core when deliv\u00ader\u00ading SAP ser\u00advices in the future.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Why am I inter\u00adest\u00aded in SAP S\/4HANA on Azure?<\/strong><\/p>\n We have a long-stand\u00ading rela\u00adtion\u00adship and coop\u00ader\u00ada\u00adtion with Microsoft. I had a one-hour meet\u00ading with Microsoft Europe SAP organization\u2019s Spe\u00adcial\u00adist to go through the func\u00adtion\u00adal\u00adi\u00adties and pos\u00adsi\u00adbil\u00adi\u00adties of SAP S\/4HANA on Azure. The meet\u00ading start\u00aded with imple\u00admen\u00adta\u00adtion of SAP S\/4HANA plat\u00adform on Microsoft Azure cloud. We defined all nec\u00ades\u00adsary com\u00adpo\u00adnents for the plat\u00adform, such as vir\u00adtu\u00adal machine, RAM, HANA data\u00adbase, Lin\u00adux oper\u00adat\u00ading sys\u00adtem and oth\u00ader tools need\u00aded. As we con\u00adtin\u00adued our meet\u00ading, with\u00adin 40 min\u00adutes we had pre-installed three ter\u00adabyte SAP HANA envi\u00adron\u00adment ready and running.<\/p>\n I was extreme\u00adly impressed since typ\u00adi\u00adcal\u00adly the imple\u00admen\u00adta\u00adtion of SAP HANA plat\u00adform takes from weeks to months. Rapid and ready to use plat\u00adform ser\u00advices allow short\u00ader project exe\u00adcu\u00adtion time, faster time to val\u00adue, agile con\u00adcept\u00ading and design of new busi\u00adness mod\u00adels and needs as well as flex\u00adi\u00adble pos\u00adsi\u00adbil\u00adi\u00adties to use capac\u00adi\u00adty in more ver\u00adsa\u00adtile way in busi\u00adness changes. Sure\u00adly, many orga\u00adni\u00adza\u00adtions also ben\u00ade\u00adfit from cen\u00adtral\u00adiza\u00adtion. Sev\u00ader\u00adal orga\u00adni\u00adza\u00adtions already use Azure and in-house resources and com\u00adpre\u00adhen\u00adsion of it.<\/p>\n Cloud ser\u00advices give excit\u00ading pos\u00adsi\u00adbil\u00adi\u00adty for exper\u00adi\u00admen\u00adta\u00adtion. We moved agile\u00adly and on a short peri\u00adod of time our own SAP S\/4HANA 1809 Demo sys\u00adtem to Azure plat\u00adform. As an expe\u00adri\u00adenced SAP con\u00adsul\u00adtant, my expe\u00adri\u00adence was excel\u00adlent. The imple\u00admen\u00adta\u00adtion was rapid, pric\u00ading was total\u00adly trans\u00adpar\u00adent, serv\u00ader resources automa\u00adtion was sim\u00adple, and mon\u00adi\u00adtor\u00ading was com\u00adplete\u00adly automatized.<\/p>\n We have pack\u00adaged the move to SAP S\/4HANA where one option is S\/4HANA Proof of Con\u00adcept on Azure.
