These are excit\u00ading times in SAP finan\u00adcial man\u00adage\u00adment. SAP S\/4HANA brings a lot of new to digest and also enjoy, com\u00adpared to cur\u00adrent SAP ECC sys\u00adtems. I will try to briefly explain the biggest and most inter\u00adest\u00ading changes. They include both com\u00adplete\u00adly new func\u00adtion\u00adal\u00adi\u00adties and new nuances to old fea\u00adtures.<\/span><\/b> <\/span><\/p>\n Prob\u00ada\u00adbly the biggest sin\u00adgle change is the <\/span>renew\u00adal and sim\u00adpli\u00adfi\u00adca\u00adtion of the table struc\u00adture of finan\u00adcial admin\u00adis\u00adtra\u00adtion<\/span><\/b>. In SAP S\/4HANA, the new trans\u00adac\u00adtion table (ACDO\u00adCA, Uni\u00adver\u00adsal Jour\u00adnal) replaces most of the pre\u00advi\u00adous\u00adly used table struc\u00adtures for exter\u00adnal account\u00ading, inter\u00adnal account\u00ading, prof\u00aditabil\u00adi\u00adty analy\u00adsis, fixed assets, and inven\u00adto\u00adry ledger. For vir\u00adtu\u00adal\u00adly all of these mod\u00adules, post\u00ading data is trans\u00adferred to a new trans\u00adac\u00adtion table from which it is avail\u00adable for report\u00ading. The new approach over the in-mem\u00ado\u00adry data\u00adbase will also reduce the need for rec\u00adon\u00adcil\u00adi\u00ada\u00adtion between, for exam\u00adple, inter\u00adnal account\u00ading and gen\u00ader\u00adal ledger, as well as sig\u00adnif\u00adi\u00adcant\u00adly increase the pos\u00adsi\u00adbil\u00adi\u00adties for real-time oper\u00ada\u00adtional report\u00ading.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n Per\u00adhaps in this con\u00adtext, it is also worth men\u00adtion\u00ading the <\/span>Gen\u00ader\u00adal Ledger func\u00adtion\u00adal\u00adi\u00adty<\/span><\/b> that came with the New Gen\u00ader\u00adal Ledger. Pre\u00advi\u00adous\u00adly, for exam\u00adple, group \/ IFRS report\u00ading was sep\u00ada\u00adrat\u00aded from local report\u00ading in its own gen\u00ader\u00adal ledger accounts. In the new mod\u00adel, both have their own Gen\u00ader\u00adal Ledger, in which the doc\u00adu\u00adments are gen\u00ader\u00adal\u00adly updat\u00aded iden\u00adti\u00adcal to both, but in which, if nec\u00ades\u00adsary, their own cor\u00adrec\u00adtive or mod\u00adi\u00adfy\u00ading entries can be made. In addi\u00adtion to this, for exam\u00adple, fixed asset account\u00ading and the inven\u00adto\u00adry ledger make it pos\u00adsi\u00adble to make val\u00adu\u00ada\u00adtions spe\u00adcif\u00adic to the Ledger.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n Oth\u00ader improve\u00adments in func\u00adtion\u00adal\u00adi\u00adties include the end of busi\u00adness unit account\u00ading as an inde\u00adpen\u00addent mod\u00adule and its strong shift to exter\u00adnal account\u00ading. This enables, among oth\u00ader things, the real-time dis\u00adtri\u00adb\u00adu\u00adtion of doc\u00adu\u00adments into cal\u00adcu\u00adla\u00adtion dimen\u00adsions (doc\u00adu\u00adment dis\u00adtri\u00adb\u00adu\u00adtion), in which case, for exam\u00adple, dis\u00adcount entries are dis\u00adtrib\u00aduted by prof\u00adit cen\u00adter at the line lev\u00adel already in the doc\u00adu\u00adment entry. Year-end bal\u00adance trans\u00adfers are com\u00adbined under one trans\u00adac\u00adtion and the same run includes, in addi\u00adtion to nor\u00admal exter\u00adnal account\u00ading trans\u00adac\u00adtions, the trans\u00adfer of fixed assets. Among the changes in fixed assets, it should be men\u00adtioned, for exam\u00adple, that the func\u00adtion\u00adal\u00adi\u00adties of the Sea\u00adson\u00adal Run will be com\u00adplete\u00adly trans\u00adferred to the Depre\u00adci\u00ada\u00adtion Run.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n In terms of basic infor\u00adma\u00adtion, the biggest changes are the merg\u00ading of cus\u00adtomer and sup\u00adpli\u00ader infor\u00adma\u00adtion into Busi\u00adness Part\u00adners. Sup\u00adpli\u00aders and cus\u00adtomers no longer have sep\u00ada\u00adrate mas\u00adter data, but are cre\u00adat\u00aded as roles under the Busi\u00adness Part\u00adner. Oth\u00ader Busi\u00adness Part\u00adner roles include, for exam\u00adple, basic cred\u00adit con\u00adtrol infor\u00adma\u00adtion. The main\u00adte\u00adnance of gen\u00ader\u00adal ledger accounts and expense types is com\u00adbined under the same trans\u00adac\u00adtion. The pro\u00adcess\u00ading of bank accounts becomes \u201cdis\u00adcount-like\u201d when they become rec\u00adon\u00adcil\u00adi\u00ada\u00adtion accounts. This way, each bank account no longer requires its own gen\u00ader\u00adal ledger account.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n The new trans\u00adac\u00adtion table brings with it new report\u00ading trans\u00adac\u00adtions (many H\u2011terminated), but many of the old famil\u00adiar SAP trans\u00adac\u00adtion codes for post\u00adings and reports work as before\u2009\u2014\u2009espe\u00adcial\u00adly on the inter\u00adnal account\u00ading side. A big change is also the tran\u00adsi\u00adtion of func\u00adtion\u00adal\u00adi\u00adties to brows\u00ader-based and mobile appli\u00adca\u00adtions through the <\/span>Fiori user inter\u00adface<\/span><\/b><\/a>. Most of the func\u00adtion\u00adal\u00adi\u00adties are sup\u00adport\u00ading SAP\u2019s stan\u00addard user inter\u00adface (SAP GUI), but some <\/span>func\u00adtions <\/span>will be ful\u00adly migrat\u00aded to Fiori, such as cre\u00adat\u00ading bank accounts.
